Top 4 Brands Of Coconut Water Compared
Which Brand of Coconut water is best, Vita Coco, O.N.E., Zico, or Harvest Bay? As always when a new product market opens up, there will be several manufacturers competing for your loyalty. I have come to the conclusion that for the most part the top 4 brands of Coconut water is virtually the same, the differences in nutritional value are so small that they are insignificant.
As with other Nutritional products the method of manufacture comes into play.
According to the O.N.E. website their product is “flash pasteurized”, and never sees the light of day. Flash pasteurization is also called “High Temperature Short Time”. The process heats the juice to 160F for 15-30 seconds. This process kills dangerous microorganisms and extends shelf life. It is still an argument on whether or not this process also kills beneficial enzymes and thus must not be called a whole food. The other 3 websites do not say how they process their coconut water, I think it would be fair to guesstimate that they do it the same way.
All brands are in Tetra Pak containers, all brands are good for you.
There are some people whom say that the different brands taste better than others. This could be caused by the source of the coconuts, and the the soil make up from the country of origin.
Overall if you look at the chart below, there is no marketable difference between the top 4 brands of coconut water. If you think one is better than the other, I invite you to comment below.
